Our Season and Programs
AYSO Region 108 runs programs in the fall and winter every year. These include our traditional primary fall program as well as our Select programs in the fall and winter which are more competitive in nature.
Fall Season Standard
The Fall Season program is our main season and is run in accordance with AYSO's 6 philosophies. The Fall Season registration typically begins in April and concludes in May. Depending upon space remaining after early registration, we will take additional sign-ups up until approximately July 15th for older age group players and into the season (if space is available) for younger age groups. Registration during this time is typically a bit more expensive and can result in wait listing. Registration after July 15th is on a case by case basis subject to approval by the division commissioners to round out team and player counts. To check status of the current registration timeline and to register, if applicable, please visit our Registration page.Practices for the Fall Season begin in late August, opening day is in early September and the last games conclude the second or third weekend in November.
Fall Extra Program - Update
Our region will enter a Boys U10, Boys U12, and a Girls U10 team in the Extra program for Fall 2010. Try-outs for the Extra program will be held on Sunday, September 12th at 1:00 at Ralston. Try-outs will last until approximately 2:30. Try-outs for Girls U10 will be held on Sunday, September 12th at 11:00am at Barrett and will last until approximately 12:30. Players are expected to be present for the entire time period.
The Fall Extra program is run by our Area and is run as a competitive program. This is a new program for the Fall 2010 season. Below are the details that we've been provided with.
• There will be only one team per region per division...this will be a highly competitive league.
• Players must be on a standard Fall Team concurrent with the Fall Extra season.
• Standard Fall season games will be on Saturdays. Fall Extra games will be on Sundays.
• Players must play a minimum of 50% of their standard team games to qualify for the Fall Extra program. They are heavily encouraged to support their standard team much more than simply half the games, but they will no longer be considered for the Fall Extra program should they miss more than 50% of their standard team's games.
• The Fall Extra season in the first pilot year will start on September 26th and run through October 31st. There will also be a tournament in December.
Player and coach selection is TBD at this point. General guidance:
◦ Coaches: The region will heavily lean towards coaches with higher levels of coach certification...e.g. our most advanced coaches who also display the six AYSO philosophies including positive coaching, player development, etc.
◦ Players: Ratings from their coaches from the prior season and performance at the open tryouts will heavily influence player selection.
Winter Select Season
The Winter Select Season program is run by our Area and is run as a competitive program for the U10-U14 divisions. Our region is limited in the number of teams that we can enter into this program, thus players wanting to participate in the Winter season are selected based on their fall season ratings. The assigned Winter Select coaches will contact players eligible for the program.Practices for the Winer Select Season begin in December, opening day is in early January, and the last games conclude the third or fourth week of February.
Note: Only registered fall season players that participated in at least 50% of their team's practices and games are eligible to play in Winter select.
