THE KERBY FAMILY

For Dedication, Commitment, Extraordinary Service

Previously we have given the “Volunteer of the Year” award to an individual, but AYSO is all about families and teams. Hence, it seems appropriate that this year we give the award to the Kerby family. They work as a team, and all contribute to AYSO. They all acted as host family for Coie Smith, our UK coach from Granada. To cover all their responsibilities every weekend, they built a detailed schedule to ensure everyone got to their game and that all games were covered.  This year they managed all these responsibilities despite dealing with some family tragedies.

Michelle Kerby has been involved with AYSO the longest. She grew up playing AYSO in San Carlos. She paid it forward by coaching her children’s teams. This year she was a 12U coach, with her team winning the Region 108 12UB tournament, taking her team to the Area 2N Tournament.  She also took her team for an on-field experience with Stanford women’s soccer. In addition, Michelle serves as our Uniform Coordinator – selecting and ordering all the uniforms.  Thank her if the uniform fits.

Matt Kerby is our Regional Referee Administrator responsible for recruiting, training, and deploying all our referees. He also personally referees or field marshals at multiple games every season. 

Megan Kerby is the Asst. Regional Referee Administrator with a focus on Youth referees. She is also a youth referee herself, and part of the finals referee team for both the Region and Area tournaments.

Amanda Kerby, Megan’s younger sister, is also a youth referee. Sometimes Matt and his two daughters are a complete referee team.
